SUMMARY:Conversations on Grief and Loss
DESCRIPTION:  \nCaregivers experience loss and grief from the moment this role happens upon them. From small losses to large ones\, let’s get the conversation started. Let’s talk about things no one talks about. Let’s get comfortable in our discomfort. Let’s reframe guilt and shame. And\, let’s find purpose again – whatever that might look like. \nTogether\, let’s create a safe space where grief is normalized\, where we can have conversations that can’t be held elsewhere\, where we can build connection\, where we can create compassionate communities\, where our mental health matters\, and where we can find purpose after loss. \nThis program will take place over six bi-weekly sessions on Tuesday evenings from 7 to 8 p.m. \nProgram topics by session: \nApril 18 | Speaking the Taboo: Let’s Have a Conversation \nMay 2 | Good Grief\, Bad Grief: No Such Thing \nMay 16 | An Array of Emotions: You Are Not Crazy \nMay 30 | Walking with Grief: Hold Yourself in the Uncomfortable \nJune 13 | Reframe the Shame: Understand the Power of Guilt \nJune 27 | What Now? Finding Purpose in Grief \nSupplies needed: \n\nCandle\nBlank journal\nPhoto of their loved one\nPhoto tape\nPen/pencil (pencil crayons if you wish)

SUMMARY:Writers' Circle: Journaling for the Caregiver
DESCRIPTION:Writers’ circle; participants receive a journal prompt\, write\, then share their thoughts with one another \n\n\nAbout this event\n\n\n\nWriting is a wonderful way for caregivers to reduce stress and increase coping skills. Through writing your own narrative\, you can record and review your personal experiences. In general\, this allows people to look for thinking patterns\, problem-solve and see things from a new perspective. Journaling helps us gain a greater understanding of our experiences and reclaim our “self.” \nAt each workshop\, we will gather\, share a journaling prompt\, take some personal journaling time\, then re-group to share with one another.

SUMMARY:Conversations on Grief and Loss
DESCRIPTION:Caregivers experience loss and grief from the moment this role happens upon them. \nThis program takes place over four Tuesdays from 1 to 3:30 p.m. \n\nSpeaking the Taboo: Let’s Have a Conversation | May 16\nGood Grief\, Bad Grief: No Such Thing | May 23\nAn Array of Emotions: You Are Not Crazy | May 30\nWalking with Grief: Hold Yourself in the Uncomfortable | June 6\nReframe the Shame: Understand the Power of Guilt | June 13\nWhat Now? Finding Purpose in Grief | June 20\n\nSupplies needed: \n\nCandle\nBlank journal\nPhoto of their loved one\nPhoto tape\nPen/pencil (pencil crayons if you wish)
