Whether you were previously a registered COMPASS facilitator with Caregivers Alberta or are interested in becoming a newly licensed facilitator to deliver the award winning COMPASS for the Caregiver program in your community\, we are offering an ONLINE training opportunity to prepare you in delivering the new curriculum and workshop modules. \nTraditionally\, COMPASS has been an in-person program delivered to registered participants. We are now introducing an online program option for participants and training facilitators how to deliver both models within their community based settings. \nWe’ll be reviewing: \n• Participant Curriculum Manual\n• Facilitator’s Guide & Best Practices\n• Program Policies & Procedures\n• Licensing Agreement for Agency Partners\n• Options for Agency Partners to reduce costs to participants\n• Facilitator Honorarium Requests\n• Marketing and Promotion\n• Supplemental Resources \n**Please note there are two pre-requisites:\n1. Delivering this course as a licensed facilitator requires signing a facilitators agreement with Caregivers Alberta\, or be listed on an Agency Partnership Agreement\, renewable every 2 years.\n2. You must have previously attended COMPASS for the Caregiver as a program participant (or be registered to do so) prior to teaching it as a facilitator. \nThis training session is offered via the online platform ZOOM Video Conferencing. It will be important that you can join via computer or tablet (not cell phone). It includes quite a bit of shared screen content\, and requires your ability to share a screen as well in part of the training process. \nTraining is delivered by an experienced facilitator\, and includes a facilitator manual\, participant workbook and supplemental resources. \nFor any questions or concerns please contact Johnna Lowther at: jlowther@caregivers.smwsites.com

SUMMARY:COMPASS for the Caregiver (4 Weeks | Online | Calgary Foothills PCN)
DESCRIPTION:Caregiving can be a stressful\, isolating\, and overwhelming experience. And due to the COVID-19 pandemic many caregivers are experiencing added levels of stress and anxiety. \nThe award-winning COMPASS for the Caregiver program by Caregivers Alberta helps caregivers balance their own well-being with the challenges of caregiving. This course is facilitated by someone who understands those challenges and is a licensed COMPASS Facilitator with the Calgary Foothills Primary Care Network. \nThis COMPASS for the Caregiver workshop is a multi-session\, consecutive course being held online. Before registering please ensure that you can virtually attend all weekly sessions listed below. \nFriday\, October 15\, 2021 (2:00 PM to 4:00 PM) \n\nBeing a Caregiver: Caregiving can be stressful\, isolating\, and have a negative impact on your physical and mental health. Understand your role as a caregiver and assess your strengths\, challenges and overall sense of self.\n\nFriday\, October 22\, 2021 (2:00 PM to 4:00 PM) \n\nManaging Your Stress: Learn how stress can lead to burnout and what you can do to prevent or recover from burnout.
