DESCRIPTION:The Caregiver Support Community is a virtual program that aims to empower caregivers’ well-being by providing a supportive group where you can connect with other caregivers\, have open conversations about the ups and downs of caregiving\, and learn about topics relevant to caregivers. \nThis group is led by a trained facilitator who is there to help guide conversations about the caregiving journey\, and offer resource ideas\, education and support. \nThis program occurs on Wednesday mornings from 10 to 11 a.m. You must register to receive the Zoom link or phone number to join the group. \nNote: Registration is ongoing. DESCRIPTION:Writing is a wonderful way for caregivers to reduce stress and increase coping skills. Through writing your own narrative\, you can record and review your personal experiences. In general\, this allows you to look for common thought patterns\, evaluate their effectiveness\, problem-solve and see things from a new perspective. Journaling helps us gain a greater understanding of our experiences and reclaim our “self.” \nAt each workshop\, we will gather\, share a journaling prompt\, take some personal journaling time\, then re-group to share with one another. \nThis program occurs bi-weekly on Wednesdays\, 6:30 to 8 p.m. \nFALL SESSION DATES \nSept. 13 & 27 \nOct. 11 & 25 \nNov. 8 & 22 \nDec. 6 & 20 \nPlease review our Group Guidelines before registering. \nPlease note: Registration is ongoing. DESCRIPTION:Caregiving is an emotional roller coaster. It takes strength\, bravery and…it takes its toll. \nWe’ve created a safe space for men who are caregiving\, where they can support one other as peers. The Men’s Den is a small\, group meet-up\, facilitated by men from Caregivers Alberta who can speak to their own caregiving roles. This program takes place every second Wednesday from 7 to 8 p.m. \nIt’s hard to ask for help. But it’s even harder to go it alone.
