SUMMARY:Family Caregiver Wellness Virtual Event
DESCRIPTION:Now\, more than ever\, family caregivers are in need of support to care for their loved ones. Co-produced by NorQuest College and Caregivers Alberta\, the Family Caregiver Wellness Virtual Event will connect caregivers with education and community resources \nThis event is split into two days (November 17th & 18th) and you are welcome to attend either one day or both! On the first day\, we will open with remarks by NorQuest College\, Caregivers Alberta\, and others. We will showcase new technologies being tested by caregivers\, and showcase existing products and services to help family caregivers and their loved ones. We will end the afternoon with a keynote\, you will hear an update on the research of Dr. Parmar’s group. On the second day\, we will have our workshops with Caregivers Alberta and one of NorQuest’s Family Caregiver Wellness Workshops. \nThis event is funded in part by the Government of Canada and the Government of Alberta. \nPlease note that this event is virtual and will be hosted on Zoom. No matter your age or where you are in the province\, you can stay connected by participating in activities\, education\, and friendly conversation. Both caregivers and care recipients are welcome to participate! Groups are facilitated by ElderCare Edmonton therapeutic recreation specialists. \nThe Benefits \n\nEnjoy therapeutic recreation in an at-home setting\nRemain connected to community during a socially isolated climate\nEngage the body\, mind and spirit through a wide range of topics\nPromote activity and support independent well being\n\nHow does it work? \nPlease register through Eventbrite in order to receive a Zoom link to the program.
