DESCRIPTION:Caregivers Alberta believes that caregivers need care too. \nThe Caregiver Support Community is a virtual program that aims to empower caregivers well-being by providing a supportive group where you can connect with other caregivers\, have open conversations about the ups and downs of caregiving\, and learn about topics relevant to caregivers. \nThis group is lead by a trained facilitator who is there to help guide your caregiving journey by way of education and support. \nThis group is virtual\, please note that you will receive an online Zoom link to the group the day before the event. SUMMARY:Beaver County West: COMPASS for the Caregiver (4 Weeks | Online)
DESCRIPTION:Caregiving can be a stressful\, isolating\, and overwhelming experience. And due to the COVID-19 pandemic many caregivers are experiencing added levels of stress and anxiety. \nThe award-winning COMPASS for the Caregiver program by Caregivers Alberta helps caregivers balance their own well-being with the challenges of caregiving. This course is facilitated by someone who understands those challenges and is a licensed COMPASS Facilitator with Tofield/Ryley/Beaver County West FCSS. \nThis COMPASS for the Caregiver workshop is a multi-session\, consecutive course being held online. Before registering please ensure that you can virtually attend all weekly sessions listed below. \nThursday\, November 5\, 2020 (6:00PM to 8:00PM) \n\nBeing a Caregiver: Caregiving can be stressful\, isolating\, and have a negative impact on your physical and mental health. Understand your role as a caregiver and assess your strengths\, challenges and overall sense of self.\n\nThursday\, November 12\, 2020 (6:00PM to 8:00PM) \n\nManaging Your Stress: Learn how stress can lead to burnout and what you can do to prevent or recover from burnout. We’ll explore how to shift our mindset and seek balance in caregiving.\n\nThursday\, November 19\, 2020 (6:00PM to 8:00PM) \n\nBalancing Relationships: Improve your communication skills to identify what you need\, ask for help\, and share the care. The hardest lesson as a caregiver is to regain your identity as a whole person by taking care of yourself first.\n\nThursday\, November 26\, 2020 (6:00PM to 8:00PM) \n\nNavigating the System: Increase your confidence in accessing services\, reflect on your caregiving journey\, and plan for the future to avoid the stress associated with uncertainty.\n\nREGISTER\nThe COMPASS for the Caregiver workshop has a $300 value. Thanks to sponsorship from Caregivers Alberta and Tofield/Ryley/Beaver County West FCSS this course is being offered for $20 to residents of Tofield/Ryley/Beaver County West and for $45 to participants outside of Tofield/Ryley/Beaver County West. \nIf you are a resident of Tofield/Ryley/Beaver County West please call 780-662-7066 to receive a promo code to redeem your subsidized registration. \nWe understand many caregivers live on limited incomes.
