SUMMARY:Virtual Paint Party
DESCRIPTION:Join our interactive virtual painting workshop! \nWe’ll take brushes to canvas and practice self-care through art! Artist Ted Widen will be facilitating this workshop and will guide you through creating your own masterpiece step-by-step. All are welcome to participate- no experience needed! \nWhat You’ll Need: \n\nCanvas or Board: The easiest and cheapest is a canvas “board.” The next best is a “wrapped” canvas. Recommended size: 12×16″ or 16×20″ (Smaller canvas’ make the details very difficult to paint).\n\n\nBrushes: The 3 sizes you need are “pointy\,” “medium\,” and “a bigger one.” The pointy one will be used for fine details. The medium one should be approximately 1cm\, or the size of your pinky fingernail. The bigger one will be used for the background where we will use broad strokes. Approximately 2cm wide\, or the width of your thumb knuckle.\n\n\nAcrylic paints: We all need to use acrylic paints because they have the advantage of drying very quickly. In order for us all to proceed at the same pace\, we need the same kind of paint. You do not need the exact colours that are shown.\n\nThe chosen scene requires 5 colours: \n\nWhite\nYellow- A dull yellow is more realistic for the moon’s glow\, but a bright yellow is more dramatic.\nGreen- This is optional because you will be able to create a green by mixing your yellow and blue.\nBlue- Any dark blue will work fine.\nBlack\n\n\nOld cloth\, rag\, or paper towel: You will get this wet and use it to clean your brushes (or a “happy little accident” blob of paint somewhere). It can be washed and reused\, but it’s more likely destined for the trash.\n\n\nPlate: You can likely safely use your dinner plates because acrylic paints soak off completely. Avoid paper plates or wood surfaces because the paints will soak in and be permanent. Disposable foam plates work well. You might want two of these because you might cover all of the first one when mixing paints.\n\n\nHair Dryer: You will use the hair dryer occasionally when we want to ensure that a layer of paint is dry before painting something new on top (such as the stars and cattails).\n\n\nJar\, glass or cup: You will need something to hold water so you can clean your brushes. It WILL get paint on it\, but it will likely be easy to clean if you use glass\, china\, plastic\, etc.\n\nQuestions? If you need clarification about any of the supplies\, please contact Ted Widen. \n\nEmail: twiden@gmail.com\nPhone: 587-497-2262\n\nREGISTER
