SUMMARY:Caregiver Support Community
DESCRIPTION:The Caregiver Support Community is a monthly drop-in program that aims to empower caregivers well-being by providing a supportive group where you can connect with other caregivers\, have open conversations about the ups and downs of caregiving\, and learn about topics relevant to caregivers. \nThis group is lead by a trained facilitator who is there to help guide your caregiving journey by way of education and support. \nOctober’s Topic: Overcoming Guilt \nCaregivers often have very high and therefore\, unrealistic expectations of themselves. They want to do the right thing\, and constantly place pressure on themselves to put their care receiver’s needs first. But the truth is\, we’re human\, and when our own needs aren’t being met\, it becomes increasingly difficult to meet the needs of someone else. Join our peer support group as we discuss management strategies for overcoming patterns of “unhealthy” guilt in our caregiver role. \nThough this group is drop-in we do kindly ask that you RSVP if you plan on attending.
