Advocating for Albertans with Disabilities

This event has passed.

About this Event

Did you know that the Government of Alberta has an office dedicated to helping children, youth and adults with disabilities find support? In this session from Caregivers Alberta, you’ll hear from Tony Flores, Alberta’s first Advocate for Persons with Disabilities. Flores is a “self-advocate” who believes in empowering people with disabilities to reach their full potential. He works with the Office of the Advocate of Persons with Disabilities, helping to resolve concerns and educate and inform the community around the rights, interests and well-being of persons with disabilities.

While discussing the importance of inclusion and accessibility, Tony Flores will talk about the services that his office makes available to Albertans – and how they could apply to you or someone in your life. Join us on March 23 at 12 p.m. to learn more about your advocate in the provincial government.
